What We Do

The 2010 Foundation is a 501c3 organization that strives to meet needs that matter and provide resources without red tape. We try to keep bureaucracy at a minimum. The foundation supports initiatives as voted on by the board on behalf of the class of 2010. You can see our current initiatives below.

Cadet for a Day

The Cadet for a Day (C4aD) is cadet-run program designed to honor local children and families who are struggling to overcome serious physical challenges, by creating a unique experience for the C4aD as an honorary member of a Cadet Squadron.

In partnership with the Make a Wish Foundation, cadets invite our C4aD to be part of the Cadet Wing and experience the best parts of cadet life  including induction as an honorary member of a Cadet Squadron, tour of the Air Force's Academy and adventures tailored to our C4aD's preferences. In the past, some events have included a Chemistry Magic Show, favorite movie on the big screen, tour of Security Forces K-9s, parachute ground training, and special access to AFA athletic events. Every event is special and truly life-changing for the C4aD, their families, and the cadets involved.

Financial Support for Cadet Personal Hardships

We understand USAFA cadets come from all walks of life and means. Lack of resources can affect the cadet experience from affording an element dining out to affording a plane ticket home. We're here to help relieve some of those additional stressors.

Assistance includes but is not limited to:
  • Plane tickets home for holidays
  • Plane tickets for family deaths
  • Affording rides to and from the airport
  • Buying textbooks or academic materials
  • Reimbursement for team or Element bonding outings that are personally funded

Military Academy Pregnancy Support

"MAPS" supports cadets and midshipmen who find themselves on the journey to parenthood while enrolled at the service academies. We feel strongly that no one should have to decide between their children and service and provide support through planning and financial assistance.

Assistance includes but is not limited to:
  • Prenatal services
  • Counseling services
  • Birthing classes and doula support
  • Travel funding to visit a child geographically separated
  • Assistance with service academy coordination
